The Washington Polish Film Festival (WPFF), presented by the Kosciuszko Foundation, DC Chapter, now brings another important cultural event to the nation's capital.

In Jesters (Błazny), the lives of a group of film students are turned upside down when they learn their final diploma film will be directed by the famous filmmaker Gajda.

Two Sisters
(Dwie Siostry) with film director Łukasz Karwowski

Two estranged half-sisters, long at odds, embark on a journey to Ukraine to rescue their gravely injured father. Along the way, they are confronted with a war-torn landscape filled with bombed-out homes and charred tanks. Near Kharkiv, they unknowingly cross the front line and find themselves in a region occupied by Russian forces.

Once war in Ukraine breaks out, five women — each representing a different generation and points of view — start a desperate fight to save themselves and their loved ones.
